Dear Mr. Schroeder and Mr. Morelli

Tim Hortons has chosen to sponsor a rally in Rhode Island, sponsored by the U.S.-based "National Organization for Marriage," a vehemently anti-LGBT organization that has led numerous campaigns to take away the civil rights of gays and lesbians throughout the United States. The National Organization for Marriage has called gay and lesbian people a threat to marriage, and routinely says that gays and lesbians are a threat to children. Is this the type of politics that Tim Horton's openly supports? I politely ask you to re-evaluate your sponsorship of the National Organization for Marriage, and affirm your support for the civil rights of LGBT people. Your Web site also currently says that Tim Hortons does not sponsor individuals, or "those representing religious groups." The National Organization for Marriage event that Tim Hortons is supporting will feature various religious components (including a worship music concert), and numerous religious organizations that oppose LGBT rights will be attending the event. Please reconsider your support of an organization that consistently tries to take away the civil rights of gays and lesbians. Sponsoring this type of event not only serves to alienate many of your customers, but sends the message that Tim Horton's and their franchises have decided to take a stand against equal rights.
